Pregnancy update: I'm still pregnant.
Zeva update: She's going back to the breeder.
Sami update: She's still sweet and sassy.
Joe update: He's mowing yards for money.
Pregnancy: I had a doctor's appointment yesterday. Haven't seen my actual doctor in a while, have been seeing 'substitutes' because she is so booked up and apparently needs a vacation. Ridiculous. Yesterday I had to see a substitute for my normal substitute. As she was trying to get the heartbeat (playing cat and mouse with Juan Carlos) she asked me: "Is this baby going to be bigger than your last baby?" Ummm, you tell me!?!? Then after she measured my belly she said: "You are bigger than normal, but your having a c-section, so that's okay." So was she saying that I AM having a bigger baby? Or do I need to cut out my afternoon ice cream treats? I didn't want to hear the answer to the latter so I didn't ask (plus she had an accent that I had trouble understanding). I am supposed to see my regular doctor in two weeks so I will wait to see what she says. Surgery is still scheduled for July 14th and it can't be changed without talking to my regular doc and I can't talk to my regular doc until I see her because apparently doctors don't talk on the phone with their patients. It is now a challenge to do many things I normally can do no problem, biggest challenge now being Sami's bath time. The swimming pool at daycare is now open and the kids swim daily as long as weather permits, which means Sami needs a bath and hair wash daily which wears me out just talking about it. Leaning over the tub with this melon belly is no easy task! I am thankful that I just have one kid to chase around and bathe while pregnant!
Zeva: The breeder is coming by to pick her up tonight (we were supposed to bring her back last night but things changed). She needs just as much training as a new pup would, with the exception of potty training. She is more of a house dog than a hunting dog, however the gene is there because if she sees a bird she is gone and good luck getting her back. Joe had worked really hard with Roxie and it showed. With Zeva, it is obvious that she needs a lot more work and re-training (breaking bad habits from previous owner) and I think that Joe would rather wait until he is able to get a puppy to start from scratch with. ...Which will be at the very, very earliest one year from now (longer if I can help it). So we get to 'save' a couple hundred plus dollars by not keeping her. 'Save' is in quotes because we are not really saving any money due to Joe's motorcycle.
Sami: She is so funny and sassy and sweet. She has a big attitude but an even bigger heart. We are so lucky that she is our daughter and I think we say that every day. Sami keeps asking me when she gets to be a big sister, so she is pretty excited. They started swimming at daycare a few days ago and on the first day Sami was the first one in the pool and the last one out!
Joe/Kate: Joe and I are trying to pay off our debt, so looking for side jobs and ways to make extra money. In an effort to keep Joe from selling Juan Carlos, I have put my car up for sale. It's an awesome car and took me six months to let go of the idea that it will be mine forever and put it up for sale, so if you know anybody looking for a new ride...
I am pretty sure that I am flushing the toilet on the Tomboy Tools thing. I have never been a salesperson and never liked the idea of direct sales, but thought that selling tools for women would be different because I like to try fix things. But I was wrong. After working a regular full-time job, I don't have the energy to put extra thought/creativity into a direct sales business. I think I'll stick to the Fargodome parking lot - almost totally effortless work.
Joe started mowing lawns for extra money and he does it for cheaper than most. He wants to keep it in north Fargo, but maybe he will expand?! If you ever need your lawn mowed and don't have time to do it, break out your wallet and give us a call! I'm sure he'll pick up dog poop too, for an extra charge.
Leroy: He still exists. I'm sure he's confused with the rotation of play buddies in the backyard. He definitely likes having a companion back there, but the yard ornaments are going to have to do for a while.
