My regular OB doctor books out about a month, so when my OB appointments went to every two weeks, I had to schedule the first two appointments with a different doc. Today I saw the different doc and this is how it went:
Doc: So it looks like your C-section is scheduled...
Me: Yep, July 12th!
Doc: Nope, it looks like it's July 14th.
Me: Nope, it's the 12th.
Doc: Well, the birthing center wrote down the 14th in your chart, see?
Me: Yes, I do see that now, but that's wrong. My doctor said my surgery will be on the 12th.
Doc: It's on the 14th. You can take this up with your doctor.
So I call the OB nurse line (the only way you can get remotely close to speaking to your doctor) and when she finally calls me back she says: surgery is scheduled for the 14th. If you believe differently, you need to talk to your doctor about that when you see her next.
When I see her next?! By then her surgeries are going to probably be booking out another month! I realize that it is only two days difference, but IT'S TWO EXTRA DAYS OF CARRYING THIS BABY IN MY BELLY INSTEAD OF MY ARMS!!!!
I can't talk about this anymore.

First of all, I'm glad I live on the complete opposite end of town from you, b/c you're going to come after me, I just know it. That being said, it's two more days to soak up life with just Sami - it will never be the same again. It's two more days to sleep through the night. It's two more days of not having the phone ringing off the hook with people wondering if they can come visit. It's two more days to prepare, because let me tell ya, you don't know what's coming, no matter how prepared you are! Enjoy it - two more days of life as you know it!!
