How can something so cute and tiny be filled with SO MUCH DRAMA??!! I'd send an action shot of The Queen herself but I'm too busy during those moments dealing with unnecessary meltdowns. Every morning. Every evening. Even when she wakes to go potty in the middle of the night.

'Tis the season for water, water, water. I came home from work last night to find a basement of water. Water was pouring in through a window, spurting out a wall and all over the floor on half of the basement. Thank goodness my dad was in town and came over to save the day. All is mostly better now. We have seepage in some places we haven't had it before, but seepage I can deal with. If only it was money that was pouring through the windows, then we could waterproof the basement and finish it! That might happen in 20 years.

The Sparkly Shoes

These are Sami Jean's famous favorite Sparkly Shoes that she must put on the second she wakes up in the morning and wear as much as possible until I pry them off of her sleeping body at night. I have been limiting her wearing them to just in the house because of how much she loves them and knowing the second she wears them out of the house they will not be so fabulous anymore. Also on her list of favorites: Those Belle (Beauty and the Beast) socks. I'm pretty sure that was day 3 of them being on her feet.

I bought this skirt/pants (one piece) combo on our Target trip yesterday (technically, Grandpa Ken did - thanks!). Sami loves it and so do I. It reminds me of one of my favorite outfits when I was little. She got to wear it to church/lunch with Grandma Pam today and to her cousins' (Grace & Nora) where she has been spending the afternoon!!

Since I have been child free for the majority of the day, I got to take Roxie for a walk, play with Leroy, pick up some dog poo (yuck!!!!, hiring the rest of that disgusting job out) and shovel the driveway/sidewalk. I was going to take Leroy for a walk too, but I can't take them both at the same time and now I am exhausted. Once again, Leroy has to take one for the team. I had planned on getting the kitchen reorganized as well, but that is definitely not going to happen.

Bra Shopping

On a Saturday afternoon trip to Target with Sami, I was looking for a new bra. As I stood in the aisle, a woman standing a few feet away from me, Sami exlaimed "My Daddy wears this bra!" I talked to Joe about this and he swears that he has NEVER worn a bra in front of Samantha.

She was obviously thinking about her daddy a lot yesterday, especially on our shopping trip, because with almost everything that I looked at she told me that her daddy liked it. Six weeks to go!

The Sleep Deprivers

If I am not awakened at 2am by the sound of dishes crashing in the kitchen (Leroy helping himself to the leftover spaghetti mess that I failed to clean up Friday night), or at 2:30am by the sound of Samantha crying in horror because she woke to realize that she wet the bed (doesn't happen that often, but when it does it makes her feel awful, no matter how much we tell her it's okay and normal), then I will definitely be waking at 3am to the sound of Roxie whining in her kennel relentlessly and the sound of Leroy's claws on the floor as he paces because Roxie's whining stresses him out. I'll let her out to pee and put her right back in her kennel, only to wake to her whining again at 4-4:30am just because she feels the need to do so. Dog for sale. Take your pick. But you can't have the kid, she's all mine. No matter how much she stresses me out, I'd be so lost without her.
